Four Brazilian police officers who were linked to a coup plot have been arrested by the Brazilian police.
On Tuesday, four members of Brazil's Military Police were taken into custody on charges of failing to perform their duties during the attempted coup that took place on January 8.
The mission, which is being carried out by the Federal Police and is called as Operation Injury to the Homeland, is to identify those who took part in the attack, provided financial support for it, or urged others to carry it out. The arrests come as questions mount about security failings in Brasilia, and as supporters of Jair Bolsonaro,
the far-right presidential candidate who lost in the election, have been jailed in connection with the violence. Since the anti-democratic acts that took place a week after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was inaugurated, over 1,800 people have been detained.
