Bengaluru Receives WHO Award of $150,000 for Outstanding Tobacco Control Efforts

The city of Bengaluru has been honored with a global award of $150,000 by the WHO for its exceptional efforts in tobacco control. The award was presented to recognize the city's initiatives to curtail smoking in public spaces and enhance adherence to smoking bans. Bengaluru was among the five cities acknowledged at the Partnership for Healthy Cities Summit in London, where officials and mayors from more than 50 cities gathered to discuss public health challenges.
