According to reports, seven out of every ten cases of COVID-19 in the country come from the state of Gujarat.
On Friday, Gujarat reported 121 new cases of COVID, bringing the total number of active cases to over 500. This is the highest number in the state in the past five months, with 72% of weekly cases coming from urban areas. Daily instances increased in only three days, with fifty percent coming from the city of Ahmedabad and test positivity rates of more than five percent in the districts of Vadodara, Gir Somnath, and Botad. The testing may be to blame for the urban-centric diseases, according to experts.
