25,000 students march in Kerala against NEP, RSS agenda
A massive march was organized by the Students' Federation of India (SFI) Kerala state committee on Wednesday to protest against the National Education Policy (NEP) and the RSS agenda behind syllabus saffronisation.
The march, which was flagged off by SFI All India President V P Sanu, started from Raj Bhavan and culminated at the Gandhi Park in Thiruvananthapuram.
Addressing the gathering, Sanu said that the NEP is a "dangerous" policy that will destroy the secular and democratic character of education in India. He also accused the RSS of trying to saffronise the education system by introducing Hindutva ideology into the syllabus.
LeftWord Books Managing Editor Sudhanva Deshpande, SFI CEC Member Adarsh Saji, SFI Kerala State Secretary Arsho and President Anusri also addressed the gathering.
The protesters demanded that the NEP be scrapped and that the RSS agenda behind syllabus saffronisation be stopped. They also called for a comprehensive review of the education system to ensure that it is secular, democratic and progressive.
