The General Command of the Syrian Armed Forces has issued a statement regarding recent large-scale attacks launched by armed terrorist groups affiliated with the "Jabhat al-Nusra" organization. Supported by thousands of foreign fighters, heavy weaponry, and drones, these groups targeted multiple fronts in Aleppo and Idlib.
Fierce battles erupted along a front line exceeding 100 kilometers as Syrian forces sought to halt their advance. Dozens of Syrian soldiers were martyred, and several others sustained injuries during the clashes.
In response to the overwhelming number of attackers and the complexity of the battlefronts, the Syrian Armed Forces conducted a strategic redeployment. This move aimed to strengthen defensive lines, safeguard civilian lives, and prepare for a counteroffensive.
Despite heavy support for the terrorist groups and their infiltration into parts of Aleppo, Syrian forces maintained relentless and concentrated strikes, preventing them from establishing strongholds. Preparations for reinforcements and counterattacks are underway to restore stability.
The General Command emphasized that the redeployment is a temporary measure. The Syrian Armed Forces remain committed to ensuring the safety of Aleppo’s residents, combating terrorism, and restoring state control over the city and its surrounding areas.
