IRGC Retaliates Against Israel: Soroka Hospital Targeted in Response to Attacks on Iranian Hospitals
In a significant escalation of regional tensions, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched retaliatory strikes on Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, Israel, following reported Israeli airstrikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure. The Israeli strikes allegedly targeted the Farabi Hospital in Kermanshah, areas surrounding Baqiyatallah Hospital in Tehran, and the Peace Building under the Iranian Red Crescent Society's administration.
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a resolute statement in the wake of the strikes, declaring:
🔴 "War will be met with war, bombing with bombing, and strike with strike. Iran will not submit to any demands or dictates."
The targeted Soroka Hospital serves as a key medical facility in southern Israel, amplifying the tension surrounding attacks on civilian and humanitarian sites. Both sides have faced international criticism for alleged violations of international law prohibiting attacks on medical and non-military infrastructure.
The IRGC claimed the strikes were a direct message to Israel, accusing it of "crossing all red lines" by targeting medical facilities and endangering innocent lives. Meanwhile, Israeli officials have yet to comment on the Iranian allegations or the reported retaliatory attack.
The escalation has drawn widespread condemnation, with humanitarian organizations urging both nations to refrain from targeting civilian areas. The international community now watches anxiously, fearing the potential for broader conflict in an already volatile region.
