TRAT PROVINCE, THAILAND - In a significant escalation of the ongoing border conflict, Cambodian soldiers launched a new assault at 5:10 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, targeting Thai forces in the Baan Chamrak area of Trat Province. This marks the third consecutive day of clashes between the two nations.
The Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Forces swiftly engaged the invading Cambodian troops, returning fire as the new front in the conflict opened.
In response to the incursion, the Royal Thai Navy has initiated "Trat Pikhart Pairee 1," an operation to counter the attack and reclaim Thai territory. By 5:40 AM, naval forces had successfully repelled Cambodian soldiers at three key points along the border, pushing them back from Thai soil.
The latest fighting comes amid heightened tensions and follows days of heavy artillery and rocket exchanges in other provinces. Both nations have accused each other of initiating hostilities since the conflict reignited on July 24.
The Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command has declared martial law in seven districts of Chanthaburi and the Khao Saming district of Trat, and has closed all land and sea border crossings to ensure national security.
