NEW DELHI — SFI All India Joint Secretary Aishe Ghosh, along with several women student activists, was unlawfully detained by the Delhi Police late tonight following a large-scale ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organized at Connaught Place.
The march, described by organizers as a historic mobilization, saw hundreds of students and youth gathering in central Delhi. Tensions escalated near Connaught Place when law enforcement officials moved in to stop the rally and took several prominent student leaders into custody.
Following the detentions, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) issued a sharp rebuke condemning the police action and calling for the immediate release of its leaders.
"Our message is clear: not an inch back," an SFI spokesperson stated, affirming that the organization will continue to resist high-handedness and assert its right to peaceful protest across the capital. Further demonstrations are expected as student organizations mobilize in response to tonight's arrests.
